The Royal Invitational Professional Rodeo will showcase one of Canada's Oldest Sports by featuring Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddlebronc, Barrel Racing and the World’s toughest event -- Bull Riding. Catch these action-packed shows that demonstrate many of the ways of working Cowboys and Cowgirls on Sunday, November 10th at 1:00 pm.

Over 400 Cowboys and Cowgirls traveled last summer, competing to represent their sport at the Royal. The Top seven in each event earned the right to battle for over $15,000.00 this year at the Royal Winter Fair.

There are many competitors coming from all over Eastern North America including: Mark Coulson (Stirling Ont. - #1 Roper in Ontario). The 2001 Quebec Calf Roping Champion; 2001 Ont. Team Roping Champion #1; All Round Champion 2002 Dodge Rodeo Tour; Barbara Millar (Orangeville Ont. - 2002 ORA Barrel Racing Champion); Joanne Shegan (Michigan - 2002 Dodge Barrel Champion); Bart Gelynse (Winchester Ont.- Dodge Rodeo 2002 Bareback Champion & 2001 ORA Bareback Champion); Caroline Heffernan (Rockwood Ont. - World Congress roping Champion); Miles McNeil (Michigan - Bullriding Champion, ORA Champion, APRA Champion); Brandon Moore (Pavillion New York - 2001 Dodge Bullriding Champion; American Pro Rodeo Association Champion; 2001 ORA Champion); and Ross Sculley (Rockwood Ont. - 16 Yrs Old -Youngest Roping Champion of Dodge Rodeo Tour 2002).

As a special act, the Royal Invitational Professional Rodeo presents the Hy-Lites trick Riding team. Leanne Pollack heads up the Hy-Lites and is the longest running Trick Rider at the Calgary Stampede. She has performed at the Calgary Stampede since she was 12 years old and was recently featured on the National T.V. Show Pretty Horses; Pretty Women.

Celebrate the 80th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, the world's largest indoor combined agricultural, horticultural, canine and equestrian event, for 10-days of country sights and sounds from November 8 to 17, 2002, National Trade Centre, Exhibition Place. A Canadian tradition since 1922, the Royal is a showcase of the very best in agriculture, horticulture and equestrian sport and a rare opportunity for urbanites to experience a taste of rural life.
