Trouble for James Atkinson & Revisionist at WEG

Revisionist, th 15-year-old gelding ridden by Canada's James Atkinson, was taken to clinic after clearing the water at Fence 12 of the cross country course during the Eventing World Championship.

The bay Thoroughbred was x-rayed and veterinarians found no fractures but a torn ligament at his left hind leg. The horse is on fluids and will recover soon.

Atkinson was born in England and began riding there at age six as a member of the Staintendale Pony Club. In 1995, he placed eighth at the North American Young Riders' Championship. At just 20 years of age, he was named to the 1996 Canadian Eventing Team Long List.

Revisionist, bred and born in Manitoba, is a thoroughbred who's racing career came to an end when he caught a virus and was not expected to live.

The duo started the 1999 season by placing 28th at the prestigious CCI*** Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. The finish earned them a spot on the Canadian team for the 1999 Pan American Games in James' home province of Manitoba. Their success at Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event continued in 2001 where they placed 16th in the CCI**** division.

This is their first World Equestrian Games.
