Dressage Canada Announces 2002 Junior/Young Rider Bursary

Source :  Dressage Canada

Thanks to a generous anonymous donation, a substantial amount of money has been made available to support Junior and Young Rider training programs in remote areas of the country. In addition, Bursary Awards totalling $4,000 have also been donated by the same sponsor. A bursary in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to the Junior or Young Rider from each of the four Regions of the country who achieved the highest performance scores at the relevant FEI levels in Competition in the 2002 season.

The four Regions designated are Pacific (BC), West (AB,MB,SK), Central (ON and PQ) and Atlantic (NB,NS,PEI & Nfld.)

Criteria for submission of scores:

* Scores from an FEI Dressage Judge or an EC (CEF) Senior Dressage Judge or a
USAE (formerly AHSA) Senior Dressage Judge will qualify.

* Total % Test scores only to be used in calculating 'set' scores. (ie. if there was more than one Judge, the final average % score is to be used in calculation, not the highest score from only one judge.)

* A total of two sets of scores obtained at any two National or International Competitions during the 2002 season must be submitted.

* A set of scores is the combination of an FEI Team and an FEI Individual score which when averaged must be 60% or better.
(eg. Team Test 63.45% plus Individual Test 56.75% =120.2, divided by 2 =60.10%, second set of scores : Team Test 62.00% plus Individual Test 58.95% = 120.95 divided by 2 = 60.48%)

* No Freestyle score is required.

* Scores may be submitted to Roz Farber, Program Leader, Dressage Canada Pony, Junior &Young Rider Programs, by clicking here. Each submission to include the two 'set' averages plus the two scores used to make each of the two sets.
