Karen Pavicic & Don Daiquiri Take On Dressage in Central Park, NY

Dressage fans are getting a special treat with the Central Park Horse Show being held this weekend.

Things kicked off yesterdy with the Grand Prix class, which was won by Germany's Isabell Werth and El Santo NRW on a score of 75.100%. This was a return to the winner's circle as the pair also won the invitational Grand Prix when it was held for the first time last year.

Sweden's Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén took second place on Paridon Magi with 73.167%

In third was the reigning individual Gold Medalist from the European Junior Championships, Spain's Juan Matute, Jr.  and Don Diego Ymas with 69.967%.

Saturday sees the stage set for the Freestyle competition, which begins at 7:00pm EST.

No. 1 rider in the world Charlotte Dujardin of Great Britain will get the evening started off with a demonstration freestyle aboard Canadian Olympian Evi Strasser's striking Renaissance Tyme.

And Canada will be represented in the competition by Karen Pavicic and her 2014 World Equestrian Games partner Don Daiquiri, a 2002 Oldenburg gelding owned by Pavicic & Jayne Essig.
