Kyle Carter Going to Toronto Pan Ams for Team Venezuela

Top Canadian Eventer Kyle Carter will be heading to the 2015 Pan American Games being held next month in Toronto, but he won't be wearing the maple leaf.

When the Canadian Eventing Committee announced their team lineup on June 13th, to the surprise of many it didn't include Olympic, Pan Am and World Equestrian Games rider Kyle Carter.

Kyle, and his homebred Dutch Warmblood/Thoroughbred cross FR Trust Fund,  had a terrific year including scoring personal bests and being the top Canadian 2* combo. It really was a fairytale story, but sadly denied the fairytale ending of being named to the Canadian Equestrian Pan Am Team (read EventingConnect's coverage here of "Finn's" trials and tribulations)

So instead of donning the maple leaf team kit in Toronto, Kyle will be sporting the bright yellow/blue/red of Venezuela as he will be coaching their Pan Am Eventing team.

Kyle himself took to the internet airwaves to address the speculations that had been swirling.

With Kyle's deep experience, and fervent competitiveness, we know it won't be long before we see him riding for the Canadian Equestrian Team again.
