On July 5 & 6 the National Coaching Committee, along with Provincial representatives from British Columbia and Quebec attended very successful 2005 Equine Canada Coaching (NCCP) Summit and Long-Term Athlete Development meetings held in Ottawa.

USA Region 2 won the team Gold Medal in dressage at the 2005 CN North American Young Riders’ Championships (NAYRC) presented by Adequan.  The 2005 NAYRC are being held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA, the Championships’ first appearance in the mid-Atlantic region.

IOC Votes to Keep Equestrian in Olympic Programme

The 117th IOC Session reviewed the Olympic Programme for 2012 today. A vote was carried out sport by sport according to the order that the sports appear in rule 46 of the Olympic Charter, with members voting to decide which sport should be included in the Olympic Programme for 2012.

The IOC announced today that London has been selected as the host city for the 2012 Olympic Games. London beat out 4 other cities including Moscow, New York, Madrid and Paris.

Hawley Bennett and Livingstone Top Canadians at 2005 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event

Despite poor weather and heavy rain over the weekend, Hawley Bennett, Lesley Grant and Peter Gray all successfully completed the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** held April 29 to May 1, 2005, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.


Phillip Dutton Wins Chatsworth Horse Trials

Australian Phillip Dutton cruised to victory in the FEI World Cup Qualifier at Chatsworth International Horse Trials (CIC***-W) with The Foreman on 46.2 penalties and also took second place with Hannigan (46.9) after the final cross-country phase at Bouckaert Farm, North Georgia, USA.
