National Hunter Jumper Council Zone Teams Capital Challenge Horse Show

For the first time, teams of hunters are representing their zones in the National Hunter/Jumper Council's Prix des Zones at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Teams consist of one professional rider, one junior or pony rider, and one amateur owner or adult amateur rider. Scores from the first two jumping classes of each rider's respective section count toward the team score. Teams are allowed to drop one score.


FEI/Gandini World Dressage Riders Rankings - 2 Americans in Top Ten

Ulla Salzgeber (GER) leads the rankings with 79.856 points ahead of Nadine Capellmann (GER) with 78.750 pts and Lisa Wilcox (USA) with 78.208 pts.


FEI/Gandini World Jumping Riders Rankings - Top Ten

After four important events in Germany last November (Hannover, Berlin,
Stuttgart and Munich), the German riders have consolidate their position
in the Top ten of the World Riders Rankings supported by the Italian
fabrics designer Gandini.


Record-Breaking Attendance at 119TH National Horse Show in Wellington, Florida

After being held indoors for 118 years at Madison Square Garden (with the exception of six years at the Meadowlands in New Jersey), The National Horse Show concluded its 119th year yesterday at the spacious, outdoor show grounds of The Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida. The National, founded in 1883, is the oldest and most prestigious horse show in the U.S., bringing together the best horses and riders in the country.


2002 Eventing Athlete Development Scholarships Announced

Jenna Brownjohn of Maple Ridge, BC, Jessica Ferguson of Uxbridge, ON, and Colleen Loach of North Hatley, PQ, are the 2002 recipients of the Eventing Athlete Development Scholarships. Awarded annually by the Canadian Eventing Committee, the scholarships are designed to help offset training and competition costs.


2003 Canadian Eventing Talent Squad Named

Canadian Eventing has named its Talent Squad for 2003. The riders selected have demonstrated, by their performance results, achievement of a top third placing in an international one star three day event, or the completion of a two star international three day event during the 2002 competitive season.

Robert Rost Passes Away

Robert C. Rost, DVM, 78, of Branchville, NJ, the 1996 recipient of the AHSA
Lifetime Achievement Award and an all around jumping authority, passed away
Thursday, November 28, after a long illness.
